Victim Support Scotland is the leading charity dedicated to helping people affected by crime across Scotland.

Our vision is that people affected by crime – victims, witnesses, and their families - are treated with dignity, respect and are at the heart of justice in Scotland. We exist to accelerate positive change in communities throughout Scotland, and we are on a mission to deliver the high-quality support and care that everyone affected by crime needs to move forward with their lives.

Our service is independent, trauma-informed, free, confidential, and person-centred. We provide information, practical help, emotional support, and guidance through the criminal justice system with the aim of empowering people to cope with the aftermath of a crime. We also offer specialist services to support people who face specific crimes including murder, terrorism, rape and sexual assault, domestic violence and hate crime.

Victim Support Scotland recognises that people are experts in their own lives and by their own experience and recognise the voice of people affected by crime needs heard at a national, political level. We provide opportunities for people affected by crime to share their experiences and influence national policy, champion victim and witness rights and improve support services. We advocate for positive improvements within the criminal justice system, working alongside our partners in the key criminal justice agencies, the third sector and local organisations to deliver high quality support when it is needed most.
